Toxic Makeup – Organic Alternative for Cosmetics

Author Women wear makeup. But, face creams, powders, eye shadow, lip balms, lipsticks, and other such things that comprise “make up” can have some deadly toxins in them. The chemicals that are in much of the makeup out there can be dangerous to your health. I don’t wear cosmetics (sometimes a bit of after shave lotion), but I do live in a house with women who use cosmetics. My wife and both daughters are extremely health conscious. In the past several months, they’ve scoured the internet looking for makeup that didn’t scare them to death (or, put them to death). It has not been easy.
Ah, but persistence is everything. They found a young lady, Ava Anderson, whose concern over the toxins in her makeup led her to start her own cosmetics company called Ava Anderson Non-Toxic cosmetics. She said:
“I was a typical teenager in 2008 when, at the age of 14, I saw a report with my mom on a study about hazardous chemicals in the bloodstream of teens commonly found in cosmetics and skin care products. The study was performed by the Environmental Working Group (EWG)…. We were both shocked, and I immediately went to my room to begin what would turn into months of research. The more I learned, the more alarmed I became. I started searching for safe products for my family, my friends and myself. After hundreds of hours of research it was apparent that although the market was flooded with “organic”, “natural”, “safe” and “pure”, there were almost always toxic ingredients and chemicals in there, as well, not to mention the ones hidden in the ingredient “fragrance.” I managed to find some “ok stuff” but nothing that was truly non-toxic.”
Ava Anderson turned her research into work products that are non-toxic. They are completely organic. The ladies in my life are estatic!
Thank you, Ava. You’ve done a great service to all mankind…because without ladies like you, we’d (a) not exist, and (b) be paying high dollars for toxic cosmetic products that are going to eventually cost us far, far more than the products themselves cost. I’m an appreciative husband and father.
